Cookie Policy
Effective Date: October 11, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Bower Education LLC ("BOWER," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit educateprivately.com (the "Site"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences, understand how you use the site, and improve your experience. Some cookies are set by us ("first-party cookies") and some are set by third-party services we use ("third-party cookies").
2. Cookies We Use
2.1 Essential (always on)
The site needs these to work, so they are always on. They keep you signed in, remember your cookie choice, and make sure you get the right version of the site.
| Cookie / Technology | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-* (browser storage) | Supabase | Keeps you signed in. | Until you sign out |
| bower_cookie_consent (browser storage) | BOWER | Remembers your cookie choice. | Until you change it or clear your browser data |
| Other BOWER browser storage | BOWER | Small settings for this browser, such as whether you closed the welcome message. | Until you clear your browser data |
| __dpl | Lovable (our website host) | Our website host uses it to serve the right version of the site. | Set by our host |
2.2 Analytics
We use two analytics tools, Google Analytics and PostHog, to see which pages families use and where they get stuck. Google Analytics shows us totals, such as how many people visited a page. PostHog records each page view and button click under a random id, so we can see how a single visit moves through the site. If you sign in while analytics are on, we link that id to your BOWER account number and role so we can see how families and educators use their accounts. We never send PostHog your name, your email or anything about your children, and we remove private details such as invite codes and record numbers from page addresses.
In the United States and most other countries, analytics are on when you first visit. A small bar at the bottom of the page tells you, and you can turn them off there or at any time in Cookie settings.
If you seem to be visiting from the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask first, and analytics stay off until you click Accept. We guess where you are from your browser's time zone and your connection's country, so the guess can be wrong. If your time zone does not tell us where you are, for example UTC or GMT, we treat you the same way and ask first. You can change your choice in Cookie settings either way.
If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, a privacy signal some browsers and extensions offer, we treat it as a no. Analytics do not load, and we save that choice in this browser.
When you pay for a booking from a browser where analytics are on, our server also sends PostHog a note that the payment went through, with the booking type, class, amount and whether it was a trial, linked to your account number.
Screen recording in PostHog is off. Google's ad features, Google signals and ad personalization, are off. Analytics never run on our library pages, which children may read on their own, or in the class lists that centers show on their own websites.
Some public pages also show Google's preferred-source button, which lets you add BOWER as a preferred source in Google Search. Its script comes from Google (news.google.com) and follows the same rules as our analytics: it loads when analytics are on for you, which is by default in the United States and most other countries, and it does not load if you click Decline, if your browser sends Global Privacy Control, or, in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, until you click Accept. When it loads, Google receives the address of the page you are on, and your browser may send Google its own cookies. If analytics are off, we show only a plain link to Google's page, and nothing loads from Google unless you click it.
| Cookie / Technology | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics 4 | Pages visited and how people move through the site. | Up to 2 years |
| ph_* cookies and browser storage | PostHog | Pages visited and buttons clicked, under a random id, linked to your account number if you sign in while analytics are on. It does not record what you type into forms or the text on buttons, and screen recording is off. | Up to 1 year |
| Google preferred-source button (news.google.com) | Shows a button to add BOWER as a preferred source in Google Search. It loads only when analytics are on for you (see above), and Google receives the address of the page. Otherwise we show only a plain link to Google, which loads nothing until you click it. | Google's own cookies, under Google's privacy policy |
2.3 Our website host's visitor count
Our website host, Lovable, offers a built-in visitor count. When it is on, a small script sends our host the address of each page you view, the page you came from, your browser type and language, and a country guessed from your time zone. It sets a cookie called session-id that lasts 30 minutes. This is turned off.
| Cookie / Technology | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| session-id | Lovable (our website host) | Groups the pages you view in one visit for the visitor count. | 30 minutes |
2.4 Maps
Some pages show maps and location search from Mapbox. When they load, Mapbox receives your internet address and the map area you view.
3. How to Control Cookies
On this site. Click Decline on the bar, or open Cookie settings and untick Analytics cookies, then Save. Both tools stop right away, we delete their cookies from this browser, and we remember your choice. Cookie settings is at the bottom of every page and on your account Settings page.
Your choice is saved in this browser only. On another browser or device, or after you clear your browser data, you will need to choose again. Global Privacy Control in your browser has the same effect as clicking Decline.
Browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. If you block essential storage, you may not be able to sign in or use parts of the site.
Google Analytics opt-out. You can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to stop Google Analytics on every site you visit.
4. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
BOWER does not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. Our analytics tools show us how the site is used. They are not used to show you ads, on this site or anywhere else, and we do not send analytics data to ad platforms.
If you want analytics off anyway, open Cookie settings and untick Analytics cookies, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser. You can also email us at frontdesk@educateprivately.com.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, regulation, or our business practices. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised effective date.
