Kids 8+ learning to direct AI with precise language — prompt-writing as a daily game, no student data collected
Free; Pro $59/year (per-student progress reports)
Overview
A gamified prompt-engineering challenge: write a prompt under 100 characters that makes AI recreate the daily mystery image — the closer the match, the higher the score. Used in 2,000+ classrooms. Kids play with nicknames only; no student accounts, no personal data.
Strengths
- •Teaches kids to direct AI with precise language — the kid does the thinking, the AI is the canvas
- •Privacy done right: nickname-only play, no student accounts, no data collection
- •Standards-aligned (ISTE / AI4K12) with a dedicated teachers' product
- •Genuinely fun — works as a daily pod warm-up
- •Free tier covers unlimited classrooms
Limitations
- •Teaches one skill — precise prompt-writing — and that's the whole product; enrichment, not curriculum
- •Built by an independent solo developer: we love that, and it also means long-term support isn't guaranteed the way it is with a large company
Best fit for
- •Kids 8+ getting their first structured AI literacy practice
- •Pods wanting a shared daily challenge with a leaderboard
- •Families who want kids learning to wield AI rather than consume it
The honest read
Most 'AI for kids' products have AI do the thinking. Twin Pics inverts it — the kid does the thinking, the AI is the canvas. One skill, taught well, with no student data collected. You may see it associated with Alpha School; it's actually an independent creation Alpha uses, which we think speaks well of both.
